The Tánaiste and Labour Party leader told the Irish Times that the Coalition would honour its commitment not to cut payments in the programme for government. He said: “The programme for government is quite clear on that [...] The Labour Party has been very clear all along, that we want to ensure that the burden of the adjustment that has to be made in our budget is shared fairly and that those who are least able to bear that burden are not asked to do so.”"?
