Complaints against solicitors on the increase - The Irish Times - Wed, Jul 01, 2009
Complaints against solicitors on the increase - The Irish Times - Wed, Jul 01, 2009: "Speaking on the increase in cases coming before the tribunal, Mr Daly said it was not just the increase in the number of new applications that was disquieting, “but rather the nature of the complaints being made and the challenging impact they are having on the integrity of the solicitors’ profession and the confidence of the public in regard to the regulation of the profession”."Judge who tried to thwart legal watchdog?District Court Judge John Bk Lindsay was ordered to pay ten thousand euros in compensation over his misconduct issues. He also failed to "respond"to multiple correspondence from the law society. He is the son of former fine gael minister and"master"of the high court Patrick Lindsay who passed away in 1993.Now failing to respond to correspondence of the ordinary(joe soap)public would seem to be part and parcel of the whole legal system in this country, especially by the incorporated law society and the court services. It would be interesting to find out just how prevalent this complaint is?
