Seanad Éireann - Volume 110 - 20 November, 1985 - Report on Prison Reform: Motion.: "What we would like to see is an analysis of the people who are in prison, and I suppose the person who was speaking on [74] the radio would be proven right in saying that "95 per cent of the people who are in prisons would be from the socially deprived areas", whereas I suppose 60 per cent of the crimes would be committed by people who would not be from the lower order in terms of access to means."
